About
I started my business twelve years ago to get back to what I love doing mosthands-on projects for interesting organizations and people. Since then I’ve been blessed with great clients and engaging work that lets me help them connect with their constituents and customers in meaningful ways.
I started my career as a writer, working for a public relations agency in Baltimore, then as a staff writer for the National Foundation for the Improvement of Education in Washington, D.C. Even then I was often asked to design the pieces I wrote. So back to school I went, and now years later a huge chunk of my work is graphic design. I’m happy I can be a one-stop-shop for my clients, offering them copywriting, design, or both.
Good copy and design are grounded in good planning and strategy. Before I opened my own shop, I served in a variety of marketing and communication management positions, including Marketing Communications Manager for AAALAC International, Marketing Specialist for Goodwill Industries International, and Director of Communications for Hostelling International-USA. This experience helps me bring a big-picture perspective to projectsso the end product advances your mission and marketing program.
Yada yada yada …
In case anyone (other than my mother) cares, I earned my master's degree in marketing with a concentration in marketing communications from The Johns Hopkins University. I’m also a graduate of McDaniel College, where I earned a bachelor's degree in communications and writing.
In real life …
After living for many years just outside of Washington, D.C., our family relocated to State College, Pennsylvania, in 2008. Our "Happy Valley" household includes my husband Dave who does online marketing strategy for Penn State World Campus by day, and writes short-fiction by night, our rockin’ 5-year-old son Ben, a large, lovable yellow Lab, and an equally lovable (and large) orange Tabby named Marshall. So I can keep up with Ben and the animals, I teach several Spinning® and yoga classes at health clubs in State College. Down the road I hope to … see more movies (in an actual theater!), keep on doing good work for great folks, and loaf around more with Dave and Ben!
